Basic Course in English, Public Speaking and Group Discussion ENGLISH, PUBLIC SPEAKING AND GROUP DISCUSSION

As a part of this course, one can learn

- Conversational work includes topics, like introductions, greetings,
polite requests, apologies, telephone talks and many other situational dialogues.
- Grammar instructions cover main features, such as parts of speech, tenses and common structures, through extensive use of oral and written exercises.
- Writing exercises comprise of short compositions based on various grammatical structures.
- Dictionary and vocabulary work is stressed a lot in and out of class. Instructions in how to read pronunciation symbols in the dictionary and how to increase word power are given.
- Pronunciation practice, along with drills of English sounds, is an integral part of the whole course.
- Listening comprehension includes listening to English cassettes and holding question-answer sessions on them.
- Audio, CD and book library facilities are available in class. Reading
of English books, magazines and newspapers is made a part of the curricula.
- Movies are shown during the course to expose students to typical
English entertainment on the screen.
- Students' progress is monitored through daily and weekly tests, weekly reports and a Mid-term Report for the guardians.
