Description
Bharati College, one of the only two women’s colleges in West Delhi, is a constituent college of the University of Delhi and caters to about 1500 students, offering instruction in ten disciplines in the Arts and Social Sciences.
Besides the BA Programme, where students can choose from 4 languages (Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Punjabi) and 7 Discipline Courses (Economics, History, Political Science, Computer Applications, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Family and Child Welfare and Music) the College offers courses in
B Com Pass and B Com Honours, as well as Honours Courses in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History and Political Science. The College also admits students keen to pursue a Master’s degree in Hindi.
Besides their academic commitments, students must also choose one co-curricular activity (out of NSS, NCC and Sports). The College has a very active cell of the National Service Scheme as well as a very capable and enthusiastic wing of the National Cadet Corps. The NSS works with physically and visually challenged students, inmates of the Tihar Jail, as support staff for the nearby Deen Dayal Hospital and with many other agencies.
