It is the empirical aspect that distinguishes MBA programme from other Master degree courses offered by the Indian universities. Hence, MBA students are expected to have regular industry interface during their programme. Keeping this in view, the institute encourages the students to regularly visit industry, get familiar with their work culture, climate, management and problems. In pursuance to this each student is required to work for eight weeks in an industry.SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS:Seminars, workshops and quizzes are considered as vital for providing right type of exposure to students and as such they are the part of the curriculum. BIITM conducts seminars and workshops on routine basis , i.e at least three seminars/workshops per trimester. Guest speakers of eminence from industry as well as academic are invited regularly to participate in the discussions. The students are encouraged to interact with the guests, which improves their thinking process so also communication skill.

Biju Patnaik Institute of Information Technology and Management Studies (BIITM) started in the year 1999, which runs under theauspices of Gokharneswar Charitable Trust is one of the premier institutes in Orissa, catering to the changing needs of the industry offering Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA), approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD , Govt. of India and affiliatedto Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) , Orissa.The Institute is geared up to train, shape and fashion the corporate czars of tomorrow.VISION:To be a leader in management education.MISSION:We facilitate individual to realize their potential.The Faculty members are involved in various activities of the institute besides teaching. Areas of involvement are library, training and placement, students welfare and supervising women's hostel activity. Beside the university curriculum,students are exposed to skill development programs in order to make them industry compactable.Students give their feed back about the teaching and based on that, the information is passed on to faculty member for improvement. Besides, themeeting of the faculty members is held once in a month for improvement of academics.
