Certificate in Business Accounting

The CIMA certificate in business accounting is CIMA's own entry route to the CIMA professional qualification.

You may be exempt from some or all certificate papers if you have a relevant degree, have completed the AAT technician stage, or have studied another professional accounting qualification.

Your degree or accounting qualification may also exempt you from some operational and management level papers.

Fundamentals of Management Accounting
Fundamentals of Management Accounting paper introduces candidates to core management accounting topics such as cost determination, breakeven analysis, standard costing, cost and accounting systems and financial planning and control.

Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
Fundamentals of Financial Accounting paper takes candidates through conceptual and regulatory frameworks, accounting systems and control, and preparing accounts for single entites.

Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
Fundamentals of Business Mathematics introduces students to basic mathematics, probability, summarising and analysing data, variables, forecasting, financial mathematics and spreadsheets.

Fundamentals of Business Economics
Fundamentals of Business Economics covers the goals and decisions of organisations, the market system and the competitive process, the financial system and the macroeconomic context of business.

Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
Fundamentals of ethics, corporate governance and business law covers ethics and business, ethical conflict, corporate governance, comparison of English law with alternative legal systems, the law of contract, the law of employment and company administration and finance.

You can sit the five certificate subjects in any order and in any combination to suit your requirements. All certificate exams are computer based and can be taken at any time.
