Acquisition and allocation of a corporation's funds or resources, with the goal of maximizing shareholder wealth is termed as Corporate Finance.This course covers the theory and empirics of corporate finance.A variety of deviations from this frictionless scenario are then studied. In this curse we tell students how to analyse optimal capital structure, pay-out policies, corporate taxation, financial distress, the use of capital structure as a signalling device, and control allocation, amongst others, and how these affect the firm’s valuation and investment decisions. In addition, we will also cover topics related to corporate governance, initial public offerings, managerial compensation, financial constraints and mergers and acquisitions.
