Unit I: Basic concepts of electronics
Electronic components and circuit analysis - amplifiers - filters - analog to digital and
digital to analog conversion - digital signal processing - microcomputers - display
devices - recording devices - software and programming languages
Unit II: Analysis of molecules in clinical medicine
Spectrophotometry - amperometric biosensors for oxygen and glucose - ion selective
electrodes for pH and CO2 - flame photometry - mass spectrometry - carbon dioxide
concentration measurement by Infrared transmission spectroscopy nitrogen by emission
spectrometry - drugs by flurometry and chromatography - electrophoresis - DNA
sequencing
Unit III: Cardiovascular measurement: the cardio vascular system
Measurement of blood pressure- sphygmomanometer - blood flow - cardiac output and
