Charan Singh was born on 23rd December, 1902 in a small village 'Nurpur' in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh in a farmer's family. The untiring and ceaseless endeavor of Ch. Charan Singh's work gave our societies a dynamic thrust that has been our inspiration. On 24th March, 1977 he became the Home Minister of India in the Ministry of Shri Morarji Desai and in 1979 he succeeded Shri Morarji Desai as the Prime Minister of India and remained as Prime Minister till January 1980. He was a philosopher, writer, honest politician, freedom fighter and an excellent orator. He wrote the famous book, "Nightmare of Indian Economy".

Rani Lakshmi Bai, better known as the Rani of Jhansi, was one of the great nationalist of pre-independence India. She sacrificed herself for the country. She was born in Banaras in a Brahmin family and was married to Raja Gangadhar of Jhansi. For many in the Independence movement, she was India's Joan of Arc, martyr and icon, whose example set in motion the freedom struggle that eventually rid the subcontinent of its colonial rulers.
