Course programme
The Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication, has partnered with the 9.9 School of Convergence to offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Journalism and Media Communication. This unique one-year programme combines coursework on journalism and the media industry with a professional media internship in order to equip aspiring journalists and future media practitioners with the core skills required for success in their profession: high-quality and consistent communication, writing and editing skills.
Postgraduate Journalism Courses in English The programme draws upon best practices from journalism schools and media studies programmes all over the world. Extensive feedback mechanisms, including peer reviews; mentorship from experienced media practitioners and journalists; distribution of actual 'beats' within Delhi to teach how to build a network and follow-up a story, ensure that from the outset, students will learn what it takes to be a practicing journalist.
The one-year programme begins with an intensive three month session of foundational classes that prepare students for their future careers in the media. These classes, taught by international media professionals and academics, help students quickly develop the essential skills that media practitioners require. They also introduce the fundamental concepts needed to understand the media industry, its history, and its future. Out-of-class assignments and weekly excursions in and around Delhi supplement these studies.
