Course programme
It's a war out there. A successful manager must out-think her
counterpart. This makes the understanding of the underlying motivations
and driving attitudes indispensable. The rules of the game are changing
every moment of the day. Age old organisational set-ups are making way
for the smarter and leaner structures. The smart manager thus can either
be a structural designer or a "virtual" outcast.
The course aims at understanding and appreciating the inspiration, elation, dilemmas, disappointments etc. of becoming and being a leader, and enabling others to become and be leaders. The course draws its resources from great works of literature and classic pieces in humanities. The objectives of the course include:
-To develop further the understanding of concepts like vision, idealism, heroism, values, beliefs, ambition, virtue, myths, rituals etc. and build sensitivity to the related experiences associated with them in leadership contexts
-To apply this understanding to make better sense of modern organisational functioning
-To encourage appreciation of humanities and literature as a rich source of experience, meaning and wisdom relevant to enriching ones personal, familial, societal and organisational life
