Course in SUN SOLARIS system administration

This course is intended to train students to fruitfully organize, handle, and maintain SUN SOLARIS Unix servers. The course provides students with the skills necessary to administer Sun systems running Solaris 8 in a network environment. Students will be taught how to maintain Sun systems, configure and troubleshoot the Network File System (NFS), and configure the Network Information Service (NIS) environment. The course provides both lecture and practical class.
Students in this course also learn the full choice of Unix features and services, its history, commands, and its architectures. They are also trained to work competently and professionally with Unix and use its instructions. The course commands the Unix shells, command pipelines, procedure execution, and file formation, etc. The course emphasizes on the useful aspects of working and using Unix together with files, e-mails, and so on. After successfully completing this course students will be capable to understand and utilize system administration tools. They will become expert in performing file system management, create and manage user and group accounts. Participants in this course will also be trained well enough to operate administrative subsystem, including cron to schedule system responsibilities and security to apply custom access of files and directories. Students after finishing this course will become SUN SOLARIS professional.
