Course in Tourism

The Department of Geography offers a Certificate Course in Tourism in collaboration with Bird Education Society for Travel and Tourism, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Lectures are delivered by professionals on different theoretical aspects of Tourism at Miranda House.Practical training on Ticketing, Computerized Reservation System (CRS) and Tour Operations, etc. is given at the BESTT Centre in Connaught Place, twice a week, again, from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. The course includes a field trip and a field report. The evaluation is based on two written exams, projects, fieldwork, presentations and continuous assessment.

Tourism is a booming hospitality and service industry today with an increasing requirement for trained and skilled professional. The course imparts an understanding of different aspects of the Tourism Industry and provides career oriented training and skills.
