The University of Mumbai offers DIPLOMA IN COMMERCIAL & TECHNICAL TRANSLATION & TOURISM (GERMAN) -Part time to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

Mumbai being one of the eminent economic, scientific and cosmopolitan centres of India, there is a great demand for translation courses in science, technology, business and tourism. Thus this course deals with the theoretical and practical aspects and techniques in translating passages from German to English and vice versa. There will be three papers, a viva voce and project work.

Paper I: Science and Technology + Project

Paper II: Business German, Communication + Project

Paper III: Travel and Tourism + Project


The course aims to impart quality education in all fields: German language, literature, culture, translation & intercultural studies. The academic curriculum of advanced courses is supplemented by numerous seminars on literature, intercultural hermeneutics, linguistics, translation, philosophy, aesthetics etc.
