QUALIFICATION: 12th pass or equivalent in any stream. SEAT ALLOCATION:

· The total available seats in CFTI will be filled in by the candidates purely on merit, based on the performance in the written test and interview.

· The seats for SC / ST candidates will be filled up as per the Government of India rules and regulations.

· Out of the total seats, 10 seats are reserved for industry sponsored candidates. These candidates shall pay Rs. 1,40,000 /- in two installments (First Year Rs. 72,500/- and Second Year Rs. 67,500/-)towards course fee.

Total number of shoes manufactured by students in two year are 24 pairs including 4 pairs of final moderation shoes with own concept and materials Total Hours allotted for the two year duration is 1900. The remaining time is allotted for project & final year moderation preparations. Total marks allotted for two year are 4200 (1800 for 1st Year & 2400 for 2nd Year).

ASSESMENT PROCEDURE:

The assessment during the course is conducted on regular basis. As such, there is no terminal or final exams conducted during the course but assessment tests are conducted on regular basis and at the end of each year, the grades obtained in different tests are compiled to obtain final grade. The grading system is as follows:

Marks Obtained Grade 0 - 39% F (Fail) 40% - 59% P (Pass) 60% - 74% M (Merit) 75% - 79% M+ (Merit+) 80% and above D (Distinction)

All the assessment tests conducted throughout the two year duration and the grades awarded are evaluated by the moderators from the Textile Institute, U.K. and then the final grade is awarded. On completion of first year, a marksheet is awarded and on successful completion of second year the Diploma is awarded. The Textile Institute, U.K. awards both, the marksheet and the Diploma.

PROJECTS:

The trainees have to undertake project work individually as well as in group throughout the two-year duration. These projects are based on technical as well as on management subjects. During second year, each trainee has to prepare a final project covering all aspects of shoe making i.e. starting from factory set up to pattern development of a particular design to the marketing of shoes as selected by the individual trainee. Considerable weightage has been given to the final project for determination of final grade
