India has many places for tourism, be it vacation or commerce. Over five million foreign tourists come to India in average. After comparing, domestic tourism is considerably bigger. Latest data reveals that India is possibly to see a further development in both domestic & worldwide tourist power. This increase would require to be serviced by enough growth in infra along with air, rail, road and also hotels & restaurant.
There are in average 1.2 million hotel room in India of which a merely seven percent (approximately. 80,000) are in the star group. 4 & 5 star hotelsemploy one hundred and sixty two people per hundred rooms as against one hundred persons for one, 2 and 3 star hotels. There are about seven hundred and fifty lakh people working in hotel in India, apart from those working in the unorganized field.
Per year demands for learned man-power in hotel and restaurant is about 2.3 lakh every year. Huge expansion is visualized in the fast-food/cafe segment and also the 1 to 3star hotel.

The disturbing thing is that a big 30 - 40 percent don't join the hospitality field & go on to join other rising field.
