Objectives &Course content:
* To acquaint the Municipal Officials holding the supervisory position, with Administrative, Technical, Financial and Management knowledge, related to the Municipal service disciplines, to enable them to meet the growing demands of the public, more effectively.
-Admission to the Local Government Service Course shall be open to the candidates who comply with the following conditions:
1. Graduation in any faculty from a recognized University and holding a Supervisory post in local body for note less than two years.
OR
2. Municipal official with Local Self-Government Diploma (LSGD) conferred by The All India Institute of Local Self-Government and holding a supervisory post in local body for note less than 2 years.
OR
3. Graduation in any faculty from a recognized university and directly recruited as Chief Officer by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
OR
4. Graduation in any faculty from a recognized university and holding Local Self-Government Diploma (LSGD) conferred by the All India Institute of Local Self-Government.
OR
5. S.S.C subject to the condition that such employees must produce a certificate along with recommendation from the concerned Head of the Department of the Municipal Corporation (Mahanagarpalika) or from the concerned Chief Officer of the Municipal Council or Nagar Panchayat, certifying that immediate passing of LGS is a condition precedent for being:
a) Considered eligible for promotion - in case of employee in service.
OR
c) Held eligible for continuance in service - in case of employees directly recruited.
