Diploma in Nautical Science

Trident College of Marine Technology offers Diploma in Nautical Science leading to Bsc in Nautical Science course wherein the batch strength is kept at forty students. The length of this diploma course runs for a period of one year where you will be taught myriad concepts associated with nautical science concepts. In this academic module you will be learning about elements associated with Marine engineering such as course plotting, navigation charting, bridging techniques, sea ship management, ship structuring, weather and other associated climatic concepts, Handling in additon to Stowage, knowledge of basic computer skills as well as understanding software applicationsShip Operation, Naval Architecture, Safety & Care of Persons,mercantile shipping technology. Doing this course will help you graduate from the level of a deck cadet to a professional Navigating Officer on the ship. In this course you will be put on different academic modules. To have this course you should be possessing qualification which is 10+2 from a recgonised board approved in India and having subjects pertaining to PCM Combo which stands for Physics, Chemistry as well as Maths and the percentage of the marks should not be less than 55%. Or one can have physics as a graduation subject in the B.Sc level having not less than 55% in the final term examination provided that he/she should be having the same subject in the 10+2 pattern that also from a recognised board. Or B.E/B.Tech. or its equivalent degree from Indian Institute of Technology or from a college recognised by All India Council of Technical Education or University Grants Commission.

In addition to above candidates should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a seperate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programe conducted by a recognised Board/University. On the medical front he/she should not be more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for Schedule Castes as well as Schedule tribes and other backward classes subject to terms and conditons as per directives laid down by the government.Eye sight standards should be 6/6 in each eye without visual aids. This course commences in Feburary as well as August every year.
