Executive Program on Managing Business Decisions

-Program Description and Objectives:

This program will equip working professionals and practitioners with the concepts and practical skills of quantitative reasoning and modeling in the business world, using spreadsheets and user-friendly software. These skills are not only essential but indispensable for meeting the challenges of making most efficient strategic as well as tactical decisions of real economic consequence in an increasingly competitive business environment in areas such as marketing research, financial analysis, strategic operations & services. Modeling allows one to explore and test new, alternative ideas in a model before trying them in the real business world and enables one to gain improved business intuition and enhanced insight quickly at a very low cost. The program assumes that the participants would have working knowledge of basic management functions and hence would focus mostly on application areas of management.

Participants will be required to form small teams and undertake organization-based specialized or comprehensive projects of their choice, in the areas of marketing, finance and operations, to be guided by IIMC faculty. These projects will have to be submitted and presented during a 5-day IIMC Campus module towards the end of the program.

Successful completion of the program will enable the participants to acquire a strong foundation for applying advanced quantitative tools to make most effective decisions that will help enhance companies' performance greatly.


-Who should attend?

Working professionals with minimum 3 years of experience who need to use quantitative techniques to arrive at most effective decisions will find this program stimulating and challenging. People in general management roles or those aspiring to take up general management responsibility or business development will find this program useful for their professional excellence.

Participants are expected to have working knowledge of basic mathematics and simple logic, in addition to basic management functions. Participants are also expected to have basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel.

Only absolute prerequisites for participating in this program are the aspiration and ambition to excel and not just succeed in the world of business by employing logical and analytical tools that provide a higher, deeper level of understanding and insight in the decision making process.
