Lourdenatha School of Nursing, the First School in Thrissur, was started in the year 1962 with Rev. Sr. Blessila as the Principal & Late Msgr. Mathew Murigathery as the Director. Even though formerly started as ANM course, in the year 1966, the Government upgraded the course as General Nursing & Midwifery course. The course is affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council & recognized by Kerala Nurses & Midwifery Council.

It is a 3 1/2 years certificate programme with one year compulsory bond. This course enables the students to get jobs abroad. Application for the course is issued in the month of July/August & interviews are called forth in the month of September/October. The classes start in the month of January.
