Description
Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT) is the first govt, aided private initiated engineering Institute in West Bengal and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
The Institute also enjoys accreditation status by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Govt, of India of depts. And it is an ISO 9001: 2000 & 14001: 2004 Certified Institute.
The Institute is one of the recipient of financial assistance from World Bank, through Technical Education Quality Improvement (TEQIP) for Academic Excellence.
The institute is selected by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt, of India for a center of excellence in value-added Petroleum Engineering and petrochemicals under its Mission REACH program through TIFAC in collaboration with IOC, Haldia and HPL, Haldia.
An Industry-Institute Partnership Cell (UPC) has been set up for better interaction between the Institute and Industries for mutual benefits and co-operative research for greater competitiveness in the local and global markets.
