The college offers a number of honours & pass courses at undergraduate level, one of the course is Honours Course in Zoology. This course is offered by the department of Zoology of the college.

Honours course in this department started in the year 1992 and till date the students of this department is performing brilliant results in University Examinations and is involving themselves in different co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

The college was originally affiliated to the Calcutta University, then to the Gauhati University and in 1994, when the Assam University was established, it became affiliated to the latter. Today, it is one of the leading colleges under Assam University imparting education in all three faculties - Arts, Science and Commerce.
