This course will help raise awareness of human performance limitations in aviation ground operations. Human factors training can form part of the employee initial training or continued development, and contribute to a positive safety culture. It is aimed at front line staff to provide an appreciation of human factors and practical advice on how to prevent human performance failure. Our course content is aligned to the requirements of the IATA AHM Chapter 11.

About this course

By the end of this course participants will be able to: Understand the concept of human factors. Recognise the importance of health and wellbeing at work. Identify the effects of human failure in the workplace. Use countermeasures to prevent performance failures. Topics. Motivation and Attitude. Human Behaviour. Ergonomics and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD). Effects of Psychoactive Substances. Situational Awareness. The Dirty Dozen.

This course is designed for all employees who work in airport operations. For example: Passenger Services Agent. Ramp Agent / Ground Handling Agents. Aircraft Dispatcher. Re-fuelling agent. Cleaning staff. Catering staff. Supervisors and Managers.

Recurrent training should be completed within 36 months. In the event of long term absence, employees may be required to complete this course at more regular intervals.
