IIT-FOUNDATION programme

T.I.M.E. offers a course for students of 7th, 8th, 9th,and 10th classes called IIT-FOUNDATION programme. The course covers the areas of Maths,Physics and Chemistry. We also offer reasoning as a part of the course for 7th, 8th and 9th classes. Our course and tests are designed in a way that inculcates the habit of application of concepts thereby paving way for effective learning.

Objectives of the IIT-Foundation course are:
-To make the students understand and master basic concepts in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
-The focus will be on encouraging students to apply the concepts learnt to real-life situations. The programme will encourage school goers to look beyond textbooks for learning.
-The IIT-Foundation programme will not only help children understand better what is taught in regular school classes, and hence do well in board exams but will also help them develop the acumen which will give them a distinctive edge over the rest of their peers.
-The programme also grooms children by providing inputs on Reasoning skills, Speed Maths, and Communication Skills.
-The programme helps children prepare for various talent search exams like NTSE, NLSTSE, Science Olympiad, Cyber Olympiad.

Course Material
For each class we provide the following books:
-3 Study Material Booklets and 3 Work Books in Mathematics
-2 Study Material Booklets and 2 Work Books in Physics
-2 Study Material Booklets and 2 Work Books in Chemistry
-For each chapter a test is conducted. The testing module will consists of about 25 test papers.
-For each of 7th, 8th and 9th classes, a reasoning booklet will be provided. Apart from the booklet about 10 handouts based on different areas will be given.

Course Methodology:
1. Course methodology is aimed at helping the students understand the concepts thoroughly.
2. It helps them develop a logical approach to Maths, Physics and Chemistry, for more effective learning.
3. The syllabus has a comprehensive coverage of Maths, Physics and Chemistry encompassing the syllabi of the major boards (State, CBSE and ICSE). All areas will be covered in full, and not the areas of intersection alone. The whole idea is that a State Board student should be able to answer a CBSE question and vice-versa.

Each topic is dealt with in three modules:
-Basic Module
-Exercise Module
-Testing Module

Basic Module
This module comprises of interactive sessions in which the different concepts of the relevant topics will be discussed. The lessons in this module will be taught using the Study Material (SM) booklet. In this booklet, the entire basics required for a chapter are covered first, followed by the exercises. The exercises are designed to reinforce concepts taught in class as well as prepare students for their school exams. Exhaustive doubt clearing support is provided. The questions in the SMs will be of the Descriptive type (in Maths, Physics and Chemistry) and of the Objective type (in Maths).

Exercise Module
The objective of this module is to help the students understand the application of the concepts dealt with in the Basic Module. The lessons in this module will be taught using the Work Books (WB). The students should solve the questions in the exercises before they come to class and all the problems will be discussed in class. Here, too, we have descriptive- type as well as objective-type questions.

Testing Module
The objective of this module is to test the students' grasp of the concepts by giving them multiple choice questions. There will be 2 tests - Test 1 and Test 2 - for each topic, or for a set of topics.
