Transactional Analysis (TA) was brought to India in the year 1971 by Fr. George Kandathil S. J. & who was trained by Dr. Muriel James and Dr. Claude Steiner, first disciples of Dr. Eric Berne. In 1973 he started the Institute of Counselling & Transactional Analysis (I.C.T.A.) at Kochi. Ever since it has been providing systematic training in T.A. to people in various walks of life.
I.C.T.A. is a registered charitable, educational and non-profit organization (ER 24 of 1973 and Tax exemption-80g-PAN No.AAAA10262) devoted to training people in Human Resource Development, especially in the areas of Education, Counselling, and Psychotherapy & Organisational Development. It is the pioneer Institute in India offering systematic training in Counselling & Transactional Analysis.
