Jazz is an exceptionaly old dance form. It is an extremly popular dance style in the West and has become popular among the Indian Youth Too. It is a sophisticated dance form which popular in the past but due to the creation of new dance styles it lost its popularity.But Recently due to the advent of the retro culture it has come back to this generation. Several TV shows, videos, commercials, movies and Books on Jazz Dancing is living proof of that. This dance form requires alot of energy and Fun in it to be performed properly. Also making it fun to watch.
Jazz doesnt have any chain bound rules or moves. The dancers have their own styles and personalties which they bring forward. Jazz gives its dancers freedom to follow steps in their own way. The basic charecteristics of jazzis fancy footwork, high energy, typical moves and several quick turns. Jumps are also very important in this form of dance. Jazz stresses alot on balance, poise and grace which requires the dancer to be patient, sincere and hard working. Dancers with previous experience in bale dancing tend to perform better in this art form.
Several Dance Studios have started giving classes in Jazz dancing. And Ther are alot of people seen coming to these studios to see or experiencethis dance form for its relaxed and calm nature. These classes show the large amout of energy in this art form. The beats in jazz are strong and force one to move to its rythum. But to perform jazz properly one has to perform several warmu ps and exercises to prevent injuries. But most of all jazz Depends on ones creativity. Jazz is also very helpful in reflecting the person’s factual personality by addition to own creativity to the steps.
