General requirement of machine tool design: techno-economic pre-requisites. Machine tool, kinematics structure & mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drives. Design of hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and antifriction guideways, design of spindles, spindle supports and power screws. Machine tool dynamics; dynamic characteristics of the cutting process and machine tool, stability analysis. Numerical control of machine tools, manual, APT and CNC part programming, testing of machine tools.
