M.E. Structural Engineering

The Course of Civil Engineering started in 1984 is one of the oldest course of this college. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is certified to ISO 9001:2000 from DNV, Netherlands.

All these courses are affiliated to the Anna University. Students are imparted sound knowledge of Civil Engineering through theory and practical classes. Apart from the regular curriculum of the affiliated university, the department organises industrial training and project work in industries in order to prepare them to meet requirements of the industries. Seminars are made compulsory to improve their English communication and presentation skills. Students are also encouraged to participate in cocurriular and extracurricular activities to develop their all-round personality. Classroom lectures are supplemented by modern multimedia educational technologies. Both undergraduates as well as the postgraduate degree programs follow the semester pattern with periodical internal evaluation that culminates with the university examination at the end of each semester.

The course has a group of well-qualified and experienced faculty members and excellent infrastructure that supports the imparting of education. The highly qualified faculty of this department includes five faculty members with Ph.D. qualification and three members pursuing Ph.D. in the following areas.

* Light Gauge In-filled Steel Sections
