M.Ed. (Special Education)

The Jamia Milia Islamia offers M.Ed. (Special Education) to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

M.Ed. (Special Education) is a full-time one year course leading to the specialization in the education of the handicapped. Areas of specialization are: Education of the Visually Handicapped, Learning Disabilities, Orthopaedic & Neuromuscular disorders.

Teachers' Training Institute was established in 1938 under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Zakir Husain for the purpose of training teachers for Basic Schools according to the scheme of Basic Education. Later, it was renamed as Teachers' College. The College initiated Teacher Education Programme for Art & Craft Teachers and in Art Education. It also organized post graduate course in Education and Art as well as research in Education.

Teachers College was bifurcated into 2 units, the Department of Foundations of Education and Teacher Training and Non-formal Education; the former for post graduate courses and the latter for preparing teachers then, for primary and secondary level.
