M.A. (English)

The department is the first in Haryana state to offer P.G. courses with twofold emphasis - Linguistics/ELT and Literature. The courses are a class by themselves which equip the learners in such a way that they can pursue a specialization in either of the two depending on their priority to choose teaching or the corporate sector. The department also offers a Ph.D programme. The department is also running a pilot programme on NET training.

To hone the Communication Skills of the University students, the Department has the facility of Learning Resource Centre with six well equipped Language Labs (audio and video). The modern approach of teaching with technology is used to train students in Listening and Speaking. The Department also caters to the conventional classroom teaching of the UG students which emphasize on reading and writing aspects of the language. The aim is to ensure that every girl who becomes a part of this University becomes fluent in English when she leaves the University after the completion of her studies.

The Faculty of the Department is well qualified and six of them are certified Business English Trainers from the British Council. The faculty successfully handles about 3000 University students.
