M.A. History

The course has a dedicated and hard working staff well qualified as per university norms.

The Department has stamped its unique identity as a catalyst that helps to contextualize historically the diverse themes and issues that figure in the different branches of Sanskrit courses offered by the University.
The members have specialization in Ancient, Medieval and Modern History, especially in relation to Maritime Studies, Diaspora, Gender Studies, Social and Economic History, etc., in addition to Cultural Studies of South Asia. The members who are actively engaged in research and publication have already brought out many works of considerable standard. About 20 students currently engaged in Ph.D programmes are regularly contributing research articles to standard journals and other publications.
