Physiotherapy as an allied health profession underwent spectacular changes in the second half of the 20th Century, It made a difference in the life styles of those affected with hereditary diseases, birth defects, athletic injuries, surgical interventions, infectious diseases, acute and chronic diseases affecting most of the body systems. Besides being an important branch of applied health care, it has almost become a popular household subject, thanks to the booming sports industry and the wide spread media coverage of sporting events.

nursingPhysiotherapy qualifying programme (BPT) prepares students to function effectively in a rapidly changing the world of health care. It trains students to be analytical problem solvers who are professional practitioners in their own right despite the tremendous increase in the number of education programmes for physical therapists, the demand for services far outweighs the supply.

Yenepoya Physiotherapy College was established in 2003 under the Islamic Academy of Education Trust (IAE) and the college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The annual intake for the BPT (Bachelor in Physiotherapy) Course is 60.

Yenepoya Physiotherapy college offers physiotherapy education programs in under graduate as well as postgraduate levels. The institute is well known for its discipline quality education and clinical research. Thus ensuring the quality of teaching, learning and services to the society and the country as a whole. The first batch of BPT students successfully completed their program and were awarded their degrees in 2008. Postgraduate courses MPT have since begun in 3 branches of Neurology, Cardiothoracic & Orthopaedics.

In addition it inculcates social values among the students and acts as a catalyst in helping young up-coming professionals their desires to perform their best, in an atmosphere of increasing accountability, The institution firmly believes an adherence to values that are most relevant to the health community and anchored to the concept of professional integrity.

The Yenepoya Physiotherapy College is well staffed and furnished. Didactic classes are conducted in 4 spacious lecture halls & small group discussions in 2 seminar halls. There are 2 well equipped laboratories: the electrotherapy laboratory and the therapeutics laboratory. The college building houses separate common rooms for boys and girls. The clinical section of the Phhysiotherapy College has an Exercise therapy department, hydrotherapy department, a play room for children and staff rooms & offices.
