Course programme

The Kuvempu University offers M.Phil:Journalism and Mass Communication course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

The Post graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication was started during the academic year 2003-04. This department trains students by state and national level senior communication scholars and media experts. This department is publishing �VV Vidyamana�, a fortnightly practice journal to train the students. Prof. Rajendra Chenni is presently Professor and Chairman of this department. There are two permanent lecturers and three guest lecturers. The department has been arranging internship for students in various mass media organisations. Apart from this the department is also conducting campus interviews by well-known media organisations for placement of students after the completion of their course. Three batches of students have completed the M.A. course successfully. Most of them have got placements in prestigious media organisations. One student has successfully completed his Ph.D. work in this department. A television studio for practical training of students is under completion.
