M.Phil. Mathematics (SELF FINANCING SECTION (EVEN)

B.Sc. Mathematics (Self- Financing Section) was started in 1986. The Ph.D. programme (Part-Time) was introduced in 1987. The M.Sc. Applied Mathematics course was converted into M.Sc. Applicable Mathematics and Computer Science in 2001. This course was rechristened M.Sc. Mathematics in 2004. The Department now offers M. Phil. and Ph.D., both as full-time and part-time programmes.

The members of the Department miss no chance of attending seminars, refresher courses, symposia and the like, to keep themselves enlightened for efficient classroom management. In the last 5 years, the members of the Department have written 5 books, published 60 research papers in national and international journals and presented many research papers in national and international conferences.

The faculty members also carry out collaborative research work with eminent professors from abroad. The Department has gained professional recognition, as three of its faculty members have refereed research papers in leading International journals. In 2004 the UGC funded Rs 1,90,000 to the Department towards 3 minor research projects. Currently, professors from ten other colleges have registered themselves with the Department for their Ph.D. degree and are in various stages of their research work.
