The Department of Mathematics and Computer Applications is committed to develop quality IT. IT professionals by providing concept oriented subject knowledge through high quality Teaching supplemented with practical training. Apart from specialized knowledge and skills, the programmes conducted by the Department aim to develop all round personality by inculcating values of honesty, sincerity, team spirit and work culture.

PSG College of Technology was one among the first fourteen institutions identified by the Department of Electronics, Government of India in 1983 to start the MCA program. It has been eighteen years since the inception of the program. The first batch graduated in 1986. The facilities available, the learning process and the training imparted are of very high standard, which is reflected in the track record of 100% placement for MCA students from the inception of the course. Leading national and multinational software companies visit the campus to recruit MCA students every year.
