M.Sc. Applied Mathematics

This department offers M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) programme. The faculty of this department have set the trends in pursuing quality research at abstract and concrete level. A number of research publications appear in the journal at national and international level. The Fermats third theorem and Fixed point theory are main topic of the research.
Recently following the trends of I.I.T?s and leading engineering colleges of the country, it laid more thrust on computer science oriented mathematics and started a course on M.Sc. Applied Mathematics with specialization in computer science since July 2001. It also decided to start a course on M.Sc. in Compute Science (as in IIT Kharagpur). This was passed by the academic council and is awaiting permission of M.P. Technical University, Bhopal. It has changed the name of the department as Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science to develop expertise for work in numerical Analysis, Optimization techniques, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Statistical computing and simulation, computer aided geometrical design for the need of future advanced technology. It is developing it?s labs with a view to develop a computational research center for scientific and R&D activities like in I.I.T. Roorkee, for future.


The department offers master degree in Applied Mathematics.
