M.Sc. Applied Statistics

Statistics is a very useful subject in planning, decision-making, and controlling. In statistical data analysis of production, consumption, investment, income, expenditure, advanced statistical techniques play a pivotal role in analyzing such complex data with paramount importance. Hence, statistical data and techniques have proved immensely useful in solving variety of problems such as wages, prices, distribution of income and wealth etc. Statistical tools like Index numbers, Time series, Time series analysis, demand analysis and forecasting techniques are extensively used in economic development of country.
Thus statistics is an indispensable tool in taking crucial decisions for development of business. Similarly, statistics is being used in biology, medical science, and astronomy for analysis. Statistical tools for the collection, presentation and analysis of observed facts relating to causes and incidence of diseases and the result obtained from the use of various drugs and medicine etc. are of great importance. In view of its immense significance, the University launched the Applied Statistics course for the benefit of the students in the region.
