AL-Ameen Arts, Science and Commerce College is among the foremost institution of its kind and is an enduring symbol in the sphere of higher education in India it was founded by Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan in the year 1968. The college came in to existence on the basis of up lifting the minorities in Bangalore.

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1968. Prof. R Ramesh Durg was appointed as the first Professor. As the strength of the students increased, Prof. Mohammed Javeed was appointed in the year 1975. later on he was appointed as Head of the Department in the year 2001. He served as the principal of the college from Jan 2003- May 2008.

Prof. Khaleel Mirza was appointed in the year 1980. Presently he is the Head of the Department of Mathematics.

Prof. Nusrathulla Shariff was appointed in the year 1989

Prof B.M Nasir was appointed in the year 1993.

The faculty of the Department is also engaged in Consultancy to various Colleges, and Institutions.
