The department also organized two UGC sponsored training programs for teachers of affiliated colleges.In addition, the department organizes many seminars. Scientists from different parts of country and also from abroad have visited the department and delivered seminar talks. It also encourages the students to give seminar talks. The department is also an associate member of TPSC.
