Introduction to macromolecular physics: Chemical structure of polymers, Internal rotation, Configuration and conformation of macromolecules, Flexibility of polymers, Effects of molecular structure on crystallinity of polymers
The physical state of polymers: Rubbery state, Kinetic theory of rubber elasticity, The glassy state, Theory of glass transition temperature.
Thermal properties of polymers: Heat capacity of crystalline and non – crystalline polymers, Einstein theory, Debye theory, Thermal conductivity of crystalline and non – crystalline polymers, Thermal expansion of polymers.
