M.Sc :Plant Breeding & Genetics

College was established in 1955. The M.Sc.(Ag.) programme was started in 1960 and Ph. D. in 1970. Till date this department has awarded 202 M.Sc.Ag. and 60 Ph. D. degrees. At present a total of 45 staff is working in this department. Apart from teaching activities AICRP on Maize, Sorghum, Groundnut and Aromatic and Medicinal plants and two cess fund projects on Jatropha curcas and Custard apple are also running in this department. Renowned personality like Dr. R.S. Paroda ex DG ICAR is also product of this department. This department developed number of varieties and hybrids of maize, sorghum, small millets, opium poppy and groundnut.
