SAINTGITS College of Engineering, Pathamuttom, was established by a group of committed educationalists, in the year 2002, with the objective of imparting quality technical education. It is an I.S.O. certified Institution, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Within this short span, the Institute has developed the experience and expertise to run Engineering Degree Courses efficiently and effectively. It is now recognized as one of the leading Technical Institutes in Kerala.

Right from the stages of inception, it has been maintaining high levels of standards in academic and extra-curricular realms of activities. We offer B.Tech degree course in 6 Engineering disciplines and Masters degree courses in Mechanical Engineering (M.Tech. - Machine Design), Electrical Engineering (M.Tech. - Power Systems), Computer Applications (M.C.A) and Business Administration (M.B.A). Since establishment of the institute, our students are continuously securing high ranks in the University. Alumni of the Institute are wide spread within and outside the country working at responsible positions. The college is also the venue of several national and state level seminars and symposiums and has emerged as the hub of technical education in the state.

Our Central Library is one of the best of its kind in the state, with thousands of titles, in reference category as well as in text book category. We are subscribing to about 150 International & National journals, in addition to the subscription for e-journals through the Indest scheme of AICTE.

Mechanical Engineering Department:

The strength of Mechanical Engineering department of SAINTGITS College of Engineering is highly qualified, well experienced and dedicated faculty. We have excellent laboratories for Heat Engines, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy and Mechanical Measurements, in addition to a full-fledged Machine Tools Laboratory and Workshop, to fulfil the need of our double intake of 120 students in Mechanical Engineering, as well to cater the need of first year students of all branches, which amounts to 420.

In addition to this we have established high profile laboratories exclusively for Post graduate studies in Machine Design. They are Experimental Stress Analysis Lab and Vibration measurements Lab. Under Mechanical Engineering department, a research cell is very active, which at present concentrate on the need of the hour, Alternate fuels. Our experts plan to do consultancy services to Industries, in the field of Condition Monitoring by vibration signature analysis. A full fledged Computer Laboratory is set up exclusively for P.G. section, with sufficient computer terminals and other peripherals, with internet facility. We have licensed softwares like ANSYS, Solidworks, Labview etc. Mechanical department subscribes for ASME e-journals, in addition to the hard copy subscriptions of international journals and also has a departmental library with ample titles for reference.
