MA (Japanese)

The programme of Japanese Language and Literature requires students to be proficient in Japanese as a preliminary step towards gaining entrance into the world of Japanese literature and linguistics. Accordingly, it offers four categories of courses : 1) courses for instructing Japanese through face-to-face interaction 2) courses for strengthening Japanese ability through written and spoken contexts 3) advanced Japanese courses that approach an understanding of Japanese culture, and 4) comprehensive sources covering Japanese linguistics, literature, history, and society.
