Course programme

IMRT offers the The M.B.A.(Masters in Business Administration) program with Marketing as the specialization in the second year.

Programme Structures as follows:

First year:

The first year focuses on innovative management core, providing fundamental business skills, knowledge and perceptiveness. It is organised into two semesters of six months each.

Summer Training:

At the end of the first year, students are required to undergo summer training of 8-10 weeks. During this phase, students are expected to observe the dynamics of organisational behaviour and do a project, which addresses a specific problem area in the organisation.

Second Year:

Second year student build upon the foundation of the core curriculum and develop expertise in areas of interests. Students are required to take a certain number of compulsory and elective courses to gain deeper insight into their area of specialization. A minimum of six elective courses comprises a specialization. IMRT offers specialization in marketing.


The faculty employs a mix of learning tools to provide sound conceptual knowledge and to create situation for problem solving and decision making. While due importance is given to classroom learning, the effort is to build surtable stimuli into non-classroom learning through interaction and industrial projects, so as to facilitate the development of right attitudes, logical and analytical skills and knowledge upon which student can base his/her self-development.

Classroom Learning:

Classroom learning is meant primarily for theoretical and conceptual inputs or knowledge. The teaching method combines lectures and discussions, role-plays and in-class presentations. The distinguishing feature of classroom learning is the case method. Through a case, the student is exposed to an actual management problem situation called from an expertise of an organisation in a wide range of settings. Classroom lectures and complemented by leading edge teaching material, which is constantly updated.

Non-Classroom Learning:

Knowledge gained in the classroom needs to be reinforced with right attitude and proper skills to complete the troika of management capability development. It consists of variety of projects that provides opportunities for application of the knowledge acquired in class to real situations. The student themselves selects organisations. After project completion, students are required to submit project reports and make the presentations to the rest of the class. Projects students an understanding of how real business function.
