Master Degree in Biotechnology

When one reads the word "biotechnology", the word "revolution" is often close behind. The combination of these words is appropriate in many ways, for advancements in biotechnology which will revolutionize major aspects of our lives and our relationships with natural world.

Even though all of us are certain that biotechnology is important, most of us are not sure what is biotechnology? "Biotechnology" is ambiguous term but different people use different terminology. However we study what is biotechnology in this course.
Biotechnology is the use of cells and biological molecules to solve problems or make useful products. The biological molecules often utilized in biotechnology today are nucleic acids, such as DNA, RNA and Proteins.

Biotechnology is not a singular entity. It is a collection of technologies, all of which utilize cells and biological molecules.
Developing technology that the cells and the biological molecules in place of whole multicellular organisms allow us to capitalize on a critical aspect of life at the cellular and molecular level; the extraordinary specificity of interactions. Because of this specificity the tools and techniques of biotechnology is quite precise and are tailored to operate in known predictable ways.
