Department of Management Studies came into existence recently within the
National Institute of Technology umberilla, and aims to imart quality
management and technical education.The offered from an electric mix
drawn from a well developed body of knowledge coming from diverse
background. It aims in developing analytical skills, functional
skills,operational skills, leadership qualities as well as ethical and
moral values within the students. The school boasts of a faculty from
diverse backgrounds and it takes in students with regional diversity and
varied educatinal qualifications.semester I and II focuses mainly on the
different concepts of general management education to give the students
a good grouunding in all the functional areas of management sutdy.
Semester III and IV provide an indepth knowledge on various
specialization subjects. There are a number of industry oriented
subjects in the electives offered. Also a non-credit paper is offered to
the students in both semester 3 and 4 to enhance their knowledge. the
department grooms its students into industry ready proactive future
managers.
The curriculum is designed considering our lineage having strong technical background for last four decades. Therefore, students having strong analytical and quantitative bent of mind perform well in our programme.
