Course programme
The MBA program is tailored meticulously keeping in mind the industry dynamics and the ever changing economic scenario. SRM MBA is a two year, semester based (4 semesters) program with industry internships resulting in a structured project at the end of each year. Students are required to complete a total of 38 courses, inclusive of elective courses, chosen from among the list of elective specializations offered by the school. The syllabus is updated constantly based on industry requirements. The school currently has 728 students pursuing the MBA degree program.
New government regulations, greater scrutiny of corporate finances, and business growth have fueled the need for accounting professionals with a deep knowledge of the important role accounting information plays in corporate decision-making.
Stuents can enhance their general business acumen while expanding their knowledge in such areas of finance as investment and portfolio management, international finance, bank management, risk management, or financial markets. The accounting and finance specialization helps them expand their knowledge in areas such as budget planning and control, audit and evaluation of controls, and financial measurement, documentation, and reporting. This specialization is also designed to help budding managers build the strategic perspective they need to interact effectively with executive management and strengthen their ability to succeed in middle and senior management positions. Past stuents who chose this specialization are now pursuing middle - to senior-level management positions in financial institutions or finance departments.
