Anaesthesiology is one of the youngest specialities of medicine now diversified in to newer branches like Intensive Care, Pain Relief and Emergency Medical Management.
An Anaesthesiologist(Anaesthetist) is a medical doctor who is a postgraduate in this field as in other specialities in the hospital. Consultant Anaesthesiologists are assisted by Senior Residents, Postgraduates, Junior Residents, Anaesthesia Assistants (Technicians) and recovery room nurses.
