The college offers number of courses, one of the course is MD in Anesthesiology. The course is recognize by the Medical Council of India. This course is offer by the Department of Anesthesiology. The duration of the degree course is 3 years and the mode of selection for this course is entrance tests conducted by All India and state level. The full fledged department of Anesthesiology came into existence in the year 1958 with appointment of Dr. H. K. Dutta as the assistant Professor of the department did its best to raise the standard of practice and science of anesthesiology in the state.
The post Graduate Courses in the department was started in 1969 and first of D. A. students appeared their examination in 1970. after retirement of Dr. H. K. Dutta, in February, 1985 Dr. R. M. A. Bora became the Professor and Head of the department. And after his retirement Prof.N.Baruah became the HOD.
