MD in Biochemistry

The college offers number of courses, one of the course is MD in Biochemistry. The course is recognize by the Medical Council of India. This course is offer by the Department of Biochemistry. The duration of the degree course is 3 years and the mode of selection for this course is entrance tests conducted by All India and state level. At the beginning the Bio-Chemistry Deptt was with the Deptt of Physiology. It remained so till 1949, it was reorganized after the amalgamation with Chemistry section under Prof R.K.Baruah and Dr.R.L.Nath. Dr.R.Hussain joined this deptt as the first Demonstrator in 1954.Late Dr.R.K.Baruah was the architect for the foundation of the present Bio-Chemistry Deptt. Under his able Stewardship the Deptt started to glow as one of the well equipped research center. M.D in Bio-Chemistry of the Dibrugarh University has been started in the Deptt in January 1970.Present Bio-Chemistry Deptt has been rejuvenated by Prof.R.Hussain with all modern facilities to deal with all Bio-Chemical and Nutritional problems.
