MD in Ilmul Advia

This Department was establish in 1972 as a Postgraduate Department of Ilmul Advia (Unani Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences) of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College by Ministry of Health & F.W., Govt of India and fully funded and upgraded by UGC, has been first Institution of its kind in India and abroad. In addition to this the department is associated with Interdisciplinary Research Work on Unani Herbal Drugs and Formulations other than Ilmul Advia thesis. Hence the Scientific Research work on Unani Drugs and its formulations are studying regularly under the supervision of Pharmacologist, Pharmacognist and Medicinal Chemist along with experts of Unani system of Medicine. Therefore, this department is a prime institution of India where Research on Unani Drugs has studied on scientific guidelines and authenticity. This Department offers P.G course M.D (Doctor of Medicine) in Ilmul Advia (Unani Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences).

Since the establishment of the Department, the Department has shown a lot of progress both academically and in research fields of major interest in the special context of Pharmacology, Pharmacognostical, Clinical Trial, Standardization, Physico-chemical studies of Unani Single Drugs as well as Unani Compounded Formulations. During the last 5 years the funds were received from various agencies and have been utilized for up-grading the learning facilities of the Department. During this period, major equipments were procured for the students or research scholars in this Department like HPTLC, plethesmometer UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Incubators BOD, Analgesiometer, Convlsometer, Antigenic Test chamber, Polygraph Lab system analyzer, High temperature furnace, physiograph etc.
