The course has a dedicated and hard working staff well qualified as per university norms.

The programmes with social concern and significance independently or in collaboration with NGOs and GOs. At present the Department holds a Targeted Intervention Project (Kalady PSH Project) in the Kalady, Angamaly and Perumbavoor area for the prevention of AIDS and HIV infection. Recently KSACS has sanctioned the proposal submitted by the Department to conduct a study on Situational Analysis of CBOs in Kerala. The Department has plans to take up Research programmes pertaining to socially and academically significant issues with financial and technical collaborations. The Department can also give consultancy to the government and other organizations relating to social welfare programmes and activities.
